MARRIAGE AT ST. ROSE

A Covenant of Love. A Lifetime of Faith.

Through the Sacrament of Matrimony, a man and woman enter into a lifelong covenant of love, promising before God and the Church to remain faithful to one another and to build their marriage upon Christ.

“What God has joined together, no human being must separate.”
— Matthew 19:6

PREPARING FOR MARRIAGE

Preparing for a Lifetime Together.

Marriage preparation at St. Rose of Lima is about more than preparing for a wedding day. It is an opportunity for engaged couples to deepen their understanding of the Sacrament of Matrimony, grow together in faith, and prepare for the lifelong covenant they are about to enter.

BEGIN EARLY

Couples planning to marry in the Catholic Church should contact St. Rose of Lima well in advance of their desired wedding date to allow sufficient time for marriage preparation.

PREPARE TOGETHER

Through marriage preparation, couples have an opportunity to reflect on their relationship, deepen their understanding of Christian marriage, and prepare spiritually for the promises they will make before God and the Church.

WALK WITH THE CHURCH

Our parish will guide you through the preparation process, help you understand the necessary steps, and accompany you as you prepare to celebrate the Sacrament of Matrimony.

THE SACRAMENT OF MATRIMONY

What God Has Joined Together.

In Christian marriage, husband and wife freely give themselves to one another in a lifelong covenant. Through the grace of the Sacrament of Matrimony, Christ strengthens their love and calls them to reflect His faithful love for the Church.

A SACRED COVENANT

Marriage is more than a contract. Husband and wife freely give themselves to one another in a lifelong and faithful covenant before God.

A VOCATION OF LOVE

Married couples are called to love and serve one another, welcome God into their family life, and help one another grow in holiness.

A SIGN OF CHRIST'S LOVE

Christian marriage reflects the faithful and enduring love of Christ for His Church and becomes a witness of that love to the world.

“The matrimonial covenant, by which a man and a woman establish between themselves a partnership of the whole of life, is by its nature ordered toward the good of the spouses and the procreation and education of offspring.”
— Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1601
